WorkSource Oregon has programs and tax credits to help you find talent, save money, and grow your business. A local business services representative will be dedicated to partnering with you. They’ll meet with you at your location, get to know your company’s unique needs, and help find solutions.
Recruit and Hire Veterans. Learn about the advantages of hiring veterans and the HIRE Vets Medallion Program. Connect with a Local Veterans’ Employer Representative who can help you meet your workforce needs by recruiting and retaining veterans.
Work Opportunity Tax Credit. Get tax credits ranging from $1,500 to $9,600 per hire by hiring people who face barriers to employment, such as: some veterans, people receiving TANF or SNAP, people with disabilities, formerly incarcerated people, people who have been unemployed for longer than six months, and more.
Jobs Plus Program. Hire people receiving TANF and get reimbursed for up to the Oregon minimum wage plus employer wage taxes and workers' compensation costs.
Preferred Worker Program. Hire people with permanent disabilities from on-the-job injuries and get reimbursed for half of the preferred worker’s wages for six months.
Federal Bonding. Get $5,000 fidelity bonds, free of charge, as an incentive to hire job seekers that do not qualify for commercial fidelity bonds. This program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, has a 99% success rate nationwide.
Foreign Labor Certification (FLC) Program. If you’re experiencing a shortage of workers, FLC can help you navigate Temporary H-2A and H-2B certification and comply with related requirements.
On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program. Save money with OJT by getting reimbursed for up to 50% of a new hire’s wages (up to $5,000) during their first few months of on-the-job training.
Apprenticeships. Apprenticeships combine supervised on-the-job training with classroom instruction.
Work Share. Avoid layoffs and keep talent during a temporary decline in business. Work Share allows you to keep skilled employees during slow times by reducing work hours. Eligible staff whose hours and wages are reduced get unemployment insurance benefits to compensate for the lost wages.
